InterAmerica Stage Inc. Completes Sky Deck installation at the Garden Theater

Winter Garden, FL -

InterAmerica Stage has completed installation of the new SkyDeck tension wire grid for the Garden Theater. This installation is unique in that it uses a custom I-Beam system to support the grid from the theater walls, alleviating the need to rig to the roof support steel.

IASI president Mark T. Black describes: “A creative solution was needed to preserve the historical integrity of the building. Even with the low loading conditions of the SkyDeck, it would have greatly increased the project cost to reinforce the stage roof structure. Wheeler Projects Inc. had designed in support for the lighting system; it just made sense to tie into their beams.”

“This decision also had the positive side effect of allowing us to maximize the surface area of the SkyDeck panels which minimizes obstructions and makes for faster installation and a highly desirable product for the end user” says W. Ambrose Coddington IASI SkyDeck installation specialist. “In renovated theaters the working space is often difficult to access, the SkyDeck helps tremendously giving the theater technicians easy access to their lighting gear and rigging points. Without our system they would be working exclusively from lifts and ladders.”

IASI is also assisting The Garden by installing their movie projection screen, draperies and additional supports. The Garden Theatre is currently in final construction stages and will open on January 26th, 2008.
